Philanthropy - David Rae, Vice President of Investments
Community Involvement is a cornerstone of advisor David Rae's Financial advisor practice. He thinks involvement in his community is important for all, but specifically for his business where communities have entrusted him with their finances and their retirement. For David working with organization that fight disease, and discrimination is his true passion.
David Rae has worked hard for many years to become a specialist in financial planning for the LGBT community and is well known for hosting large charity fundraisers. During the last several years he completed the AidsLifeCycle 6 times and is again training for ALC 13 which is a 561 mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raises money to help the fight to end HIV/AIDS. Aids Life/Cycle12 Page . Beyond just doing the ride he has consistently been a top fundraiser, not to mention founding Team Popular to help expose more people to the joys of philanthropy through athletic events. His team has raised over $810,000 since David started doing the ride. David plans to lead his team to a cumulative $1 million raised by this years ride. He was also featured in an LA Times article. He has also been active in a variety other charity athletic events fighting devastating diseases and causes.
David has been recognized by Registered Rep a national industry publication as an "Advisor With Heart" Award Winner at their 31st Annual Altruism Awards. In response to the pending drastic and devastating budget cuts coming down the line here in California, David has joined the Ambassadors Council for Aids Project LA. He will be working with the council to help raise funds to save the essential services that often are the difference between life and death for the clients of APLA and other AIDS related charities.
David Rae was recognized alongside Tom Whitman and Steven Chuukey Machuca IN Magazine as being a major force in the next generation of gay philanthropists. David earned this recognition by his hard work for such causes as Human Rights Campaign, AIDS Project Los Angeles, Equality California and the LA Gay and Lesbian Center , San Francisco AIDS Foundations to name a few.
David beyond being a gay financial planner has also been an active proponent for equal rights for all, especially in the area of marriage.
